A wealthy family with a string of suspicious “accidents” already sounds bad, and the tension is there from the start. Ran feels more emotionally involved, which makes the atmosphere heavier. Conan starts picking up on the patterns early. The setup is strong and a bit unsettling.

Episode Context

Coming off the high-energy 'Conan vs. Phantom Thief Kid' confrontation, this episode shifts gears into a more grounded, methodical investigative storyline. It marks the opening of the 'Distinguished Family's Consecutive Accidental Death Case' two-parter, establishing the suspects, setting, and central mystery. The second part follows immediately, so this functions as essential setup rather than a standalone entry.
