👀 SPOILER-FREE SUMMARY

A classic Detective Boys outing goes sideways fast. What starts as a lighthearted fishing trip with Dr. Agasa at a local pier shifts into tense investigative territory when a poisoning victim enters the picture. This is a strong setup episode that leans into the show's bread and butter: a contained crime scene, a tight group of suspects, and Conan quietly piecing together what everyone else is missing. Haibara and the Detective Boys get solid screen time, and the pier setting gives the mystery a slightly claustrophobic edge despite being outdoors. The pacing is deliberate, prioritizing clue placement and character dynamics over action. If you enjoy the slower-burn two-parters where the groundwork matters as much as the payoff, this first half delivers exactly that kind of methodical tension.
