Episode Context

This episode arrives as a deliberate cooldown after the high-stakes 'Contact with the Black Organization' episodes, giving viewers a standalone mystery palette cleanser rooted in Japanese cultural tradition. As Part 1 of a two-parter, it prioritizes setup and atmosphere, introducing new faces like Inspector Momose while keeping the Detective Boys front and center. It serves as a transitional case bridging the intensity of the Black Organization confrontation and whatever comes next in the series' long-running episodic rotation.
