Episode Context

Arriving after 'The Kidnapper in the Picture,' this episode pivots from a standalone case into one of Conan's most popular recurring storylines, the Sato and Takagi romance threads that have been building across hundreds of episodes. As Part 1 of a two-parter, it establishes both the personal and investigative stakes that will reach their payoff in Episode 254, 'Metropolitan Police Detective Love Story 4 (Part 2).'
