Episode Context

This is the third part of the Desperate Revival arc, following Shinichi's dramatic return to his true form during a school play in 'The Black Knight.' The episode deepens the emotional consequences of that return, particularly for Shinichi and Ran's relationship, while a new case complicates everything. It directly sets up the arc's conclusion in 'The Promised Place,' where the implications of Shinichi's temporary revival come to a head.
