it started so cute with the detective boys actually doing something normal and then immediately went sideways in the funniest way possible. the mystery was fun and the twist was good but the ending felt so abrupt that it actually caught me off guard. they really just ended it like that and moved on??

the episode's decision to leave the investigation structurally unresolved rather than extending the runtime is an unusual structural choice for the series. the mystery mechanics and pacing are competent but the abrupt conclusion undermines the otherwise satisfying buildup and prevents the episode from landing with the impact it had earned.

i was genuinely happy seeing the detective boys just doing normal kid things for once and then they found a dead body and i was not even surprised. the mystery was fun while it lasted but that ending is genuinely one of the most abrupt things i have seen. they really just left it like that. wild.

Episode Context

Coming off 'The Mysterious Shooting Message Case,' this episode continues establishing the Detective Boys as a regular fixture in the series, deepening their group dynamic and giving them increasingly complex cases to stumble into. It's still early in the show's run, firmly in the world-building phase where standalone mysteries define the cast's roles and investigative chemistry. These early outings lay critical groundwork for the Detective Boys' prominence throughout the series' long tenure.
