the detective boys badge invention is genuinely such a cute idea even if the kids themselves make me want to pull my hair out constantly. the episode gets progressively more ridiculous in the best possible way. i cannot even be mad because it is just so funny watching physics get completely ignored tbh
the introduction of a communication gadget for the detective boys is a logical expansion of the show's established formula. the episode leans heavily into physical comedy and implausible child athleticism, which creates a deliberately lighter tone that contrasts well against the more emotionally demanding cases surrounding it.
these children are genuinely so annoying and yet i cannot stop watching. the things they pull off in this episode make absolutely zero physical sense but it is too funny to even be upset about. the whole premise is completely ridiculous and somehow that makes it more entertaining than a straightforward mystery would be.
