Love some of the zoom in shots, feels intentional as you can see how they move naturally in certain situations. MC has great friends, love to see more of that relationship blossom, especially with the new rival. Idk about the rivalry in the romance part. Felt forceful. 7.7/10

Coming directly after Syaoran Li's introduction in episode 8, this ninth installment wisely slows down to process the emotional fallout of that rivalry shaking Sakura's self-assurance. It deepens the friendship dynamics between Sakura, Tomoyo, and Rika while quietly laying groundwork for the character relationships that will become central threads across the remaining sixty-plus episodes. Still early in Sakura's Cardcaptor journey, this episode signals that the series values its protagonist's inner growth just as much as the card-of-the-week formula.
