A classic anime OVA that combines stylish sentai aesthetic with a cyberpunk world fighting against rogue mechs called Boomers, produced by the evil corporation GENOM. Lots of charm, action, and clearly an animator's self-indulgence! A great look back on Hiroaki Goda's work.

Episode Context

As the eighth and final episode of the OVA series, 'Scoop Chase' follows the revenge-driven intensity of 'Double Vision' with a notably different energy, shifting focus to internal team dynamics and the ever-present risk of exposure. Rather than escalating toward a grand climactic confrontation, this finale spotlights Nene and explores what it means to protect the Knight Sabers' secret from the inside out. It serves as a character-centric capstone to the series, closing out Bubblegum Crisis by reminding viewers that the team's greatest vulnerabilities are often personal, not mechanical.
