taira sacrificing himself to his karma was so incredibly sad. im just relieved they didn't force an awkward romantic scene at the end. the lack of real closure is frustrating, but it was an emotional ride overall.

an incredibly abrupt, open-ended conclusion that serves primarily as a manga advertisement. despite early world-building promise, the reliance on absurdities like the komodo dragons and melodramatic sacrifices severely hindered the finale.

why do the komodo dragons- nvm. himiko literally begging him to kill her for the chip was wild tho. this whole show was a massive guilty pleasure, but i am definitely not watching another season just to get an actual ending, byeeee

Episode Context

As the twelfth and final episode, 'Bonds' follows directly from 'Revival,' where shifting alliances and escalating betrayals pushed the core trio to a breaking point. This finale channels the cumulative tension of the entire season into a culmination of character arcs, particularly the evolving dynamics between Ryōta, Himiko, and Taira, while functioning as the endpoint of an incomplete adaptation, leaving certain narrative threads from the manga unresolved.
