📖 SYNOPSIS
Set in Musashino and Mitaka between August and October 1952, "Mouryou no Hako" follows the investigation into a series of disturbing crimes. The attempted murder and subsequent abduction of 14-year-old Kanako Yuzuki sparks a chain of events, including the abduction of other girls and the discovery of their severed limbs in custom-fitted boxes. News editor Morihiko Toriguchi and crime fiction writer Tatsumi Sekiguchi team up with onmyōji Akihiko Chūzenji to unravel the mystery. Meanwhile, Detective Shutaro Kiba of the Tokyo police searches for Kanako, despite jurisdictional issues, while private investigator Reijiro Enokizu is hired by Kanako's grandfather's estate. Their investigations delve into bizarre truths and uncover dark family secrets, hinting at a deeper, more sinister reality.
