Boku no Yayoi-san
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Five years living with his late brother's widow, Yayoi, have quietly reshaped everything for Hiro. They share a home, daily routines, and a quiet grief — and somewhere along the way, Hiro's feelings for her became something harder to ignore. The setup is emotionally loaded before anything even happens: a young man carrying love for a woman who's still figuring out life after loss, both of them stuck in this in-between space where nothing is clearly allowed or forbidden. This is a 2-episode OVA from 2015, adapted from manga, and it leans into that emotional tension between two people who already know each other too well to pretend feelings don't exist. It's not a slow burn romance with a cast of side characters and comedy bits — it's focused, intimate, and pretty direct about where things are heading. The animation holds up the mood well, keeping things feeling personal rather than cheap. If you've watched something like Kimi wa Pet and appreciated adult relationships with real emotional weight behind them, this scratches a similar itch. It's not trying to be a grand love story — it's more like a quiet room where two people finally stop avoiding each other. Short, uncomplicated, and does exactly what it sets out to do without overstaying its welcome.
