Body Jack: Tanoshii Yutai Ridatsu
Oshimeter
Synopsis
When an eccentric scientist invents a machine that lets a person's consciousness slip into someone else's body, naturally the first thing he does is use it on a high school girl. That's the setup for this 1987 single-episode OVA, where a male student named Takao gets to experience life from the inside of his female classmate Komaba's body. What follows is exactly the kind of awkward, comedic chaos you'd expect — especially when another classmate walks in and completely misreads what 'Komaba' is doing. The humor leans hard into the discomfort of suddenly existing in a body that isn't yours, navigating social situations you're not equipped for. It's goofy and ecchi in that distinctly late-80s way, with hand-drawn animation that feels very much of its era — soft lines, warm color palettes, and character designs that scream bubble-era Japan. If you've watched something like Call Me Tonight or older ecchi OVAs from that period, you already know the general atmosphere: short, weird, and not taking itself seriously at all. It's not trying to be deep — it's a one-shot comedy built around a single absurd premise, executed with the kind of earnest silliness that older anime does well. If you're into vintage ecchi curiosities or just want to see what gender-swap comedy looked like before it became a full genre, this is a pretty low-commitment way to scratch that itch at a single episode runtime.
