This episode explores Rin’s past and the experiences that shaped him, giving insight into his motivations and relationships. The story flows smoothly, balancing character moments with engaging events without revealing any major plot points.

Episode Context

Sitting at the rough midpoint of the first season, episode 9 serves as a deliberate cooldown after the high-stakes ghoul attack in 'Now a Certain Man Was Sick...' while laying essential emotional groundwork for what's ahead. The character reflections and relationship tensions explored here directly feed into episode 10, 'Black Cat,' which pivots back toward new supernatural threats and narrative momentum. This is the kind of bridge episode that rewards patience, skip it and the developments that follow will hit with less weight.
