Ichigo continues to develop as a substitute Shinigami. Although the outcome of his battles was not as expected, he finally understood his purpose as a substitute Shinigami. I can't wait to see the next, more intense battles. I'm curious about Ichigo and Rukia's relationship.

Grand Fisher using that lure of his mom is so messed up and you can see Ichigo just losing it when he realizes what happened that day

Suddenly, all that heavy guilt Ichigo carried around for his mom's death transformed into something else entirely—a scorching fury that honestly made me gasp. He's been living under such a terrible lie, and now that he's finally pinpointed Grand Fisher, I can only imagine the kind of vengeance he's gonna unleash.

Ichigo’s face, when he finally saw the lure as that innocent girl and then understood the horrific truth—that it was all a monstrous setup for his mom—just crushed me. I can’t imagine the pure agony of realizing such a devastating memory was being used to manipulate a loved one.

Saido showing up and then just falling asleep while fighting was such a weird mood change and I was not expecting that at all

The way Rukia stays back because she knows this is about his honor is such a great moment and she really gets him

Seeing Grand Fisher mock Masaki like that made me want to jump through the screen and help Ichigo beat that thing into the ground

When I realized that lure was genuinely a part of the Hollow's own flesh, a chill went down my spine; it made the whole hunt for souls feel so much more personal and predatory than just a generic monster attack, and I can't imagine the terror of those spirits.

Ichigo charging in without a plan was frustrating, but seeing him realize how much he needs to grow to protect his sisters made it worth it

Kon showing up to take the sisters away was actually helpful for once so Ichigo could focus on fighting without worrying about them getting snatched again

I feel so bad for Ichigo seeing that lure of his mom and he was just a kid when it happened and that Hollow is pure evil for playing with his head like that

That stranger Saido falling asleep in the middle of a literal death match against a fifty year old Hollow hunter was the most bizarre thing ever

The reveal of the lure being part of the Hollow's body was disgusting, especially seeing it peel back to show that fleshy growth underneath

My heart sank when I saw that little girl lure turn into Masaki and the way it messed with Ichigo's head was just cruel

Where was Isshin during this whole cemetery fight because it seems weird that a dad wouldn't notice a massive monster attacking his kids right there

The way Grand Fisher talked about his mom being delicious was so evil and it really shows how much of a threat these things actually are

Seeing Ichigo get caught in that Hollows hair while trying to save his sisters from being eaten in the middle of a graveyard was actually terrifying

Watching Rukia just stand there while Ichigo got thrashed was a lot but it was all about his honor and his mother's memory

It is so messed up that the Hollow doesn't even remember killing her, especially since he treats it like another meal while Ichigo has been suffering for years

Grand Fisher is terrifying for using Masaki like that and it makes so much sense why Ichigo is always so moody now

EPISODE CONTEXT

Directly following episode 8's reflective deep-dive into the anniversary of Ichigo's mother's death, this episode escalates that emotional foundation into a defining confrontation with Grand Fisher. It marks a critical turning point in Bleach's opening stretch, shifting Ichigo from a reluctant substitute Soul Reaper into someone fighting for deeply personal reasons, and the consequences of this battle ripple forward into his continued development and growing resolve throughout the early arcs.
