soi fon playing along with the captain lie just to mess with him later is the best dynamic

Episode Context

Episode 312 lands squarely in a filler stretch following the conclusion of the grueling Arrancar saga, well before the series pivots toward its final canon arcs. It has no bearing on the main storyline and connects to neither the episodes before nor after it in any meaningful narrative way. This is purely a comedic breather, completionists and Ōmaeda fans only.
