I actually liked seeing Byakuya's grandfather and seeing how the older Kuchiki generation handled things was the best part about this flashback

The way Muramasa basically whispered Koga into going completely insane was dark and it explains so much about why he is acting out now

Episode Context

Picking up directly after Episode 249's pivotal unsealing of Kōga, this episode functions as critical connective tissue within the filler Zanpakutō arc, providing the backstory needed to understand Kōga's motivations and his fractured relationship with the Kuchiki lineage. It bridges the gap between Muramasa's endgame reveal and the confrontations that follow, grounding the upcoming action beats in personal stakes. Without this context, the arc's climactic episodes lose emotional resonance.
