that monologue about why the squad three insignia is a marigold was actually pretty deep and it makes you look at izuru way differently now

watching that bird guy get heavier and heavier with every hit from wabisuke was so satisfying and the animation really stepped up for the finish

Episode Context

This episode continues the pattern established in the preceding stretch where individual Soul Reaper lieutenants and seated officers face off against their respective opponents in isolated confrontations, directly following Yumichika's concluded battle in Episode 217, 'Beautiful Little Devil Charlotte.' Kira's fight deepens the thematic throughline of lieutenants proving their worth under extreme pressure. Episode 219, 'Hisagi's Shikai! The Name is...' picks up this relay format next, shifting focus to Shūhei Hisagi and continuing the sequence of character-defining battles.
