I honestly didn't expect Chad to be the one getting a massive power up this early, but seeing him protect Karin made me so happy. His grandfather seems like such a wise man, and that promise they made really defines his whole character now. I just hope Ichigo realizes his friends are changing soon because things are getting way too dangerous for him to be this clueless
