The reveal of Julius' grimoire was insane, holy aura farm?? Different/unique grimoires in this series are always OP.. Licht feels more unreasonable every time he tries to justify his motives with the same flashback too!

The animation on this one was top-tier, they really executed the fight scenes and insanely overpowered nature of both Licht and Julius's magical powers. All of the magical powers were overwhelming visually.

You can really tell the animation team went all out for this fight since every time magic spell looked so fluid and the speed of the combat was just incredible

I am still crying because Julius is actually gone and his last words about the future where peasants can shine just broke me

His coverless grimoire is the coolest thing in the show, and watching the pages spin while Julius outplayed Licht with time magic was unreal animation quality for this series

The way Licht used that massive light spell against the whole kingdom was terrifying and seeing Julius trade his life to stop it proves why he was the wizard king

Zara Ideale being the reason Julius wanted to change the kingdom hit me so hard and I really hate William for letting this happen to such a good man

That reveal of why Julius fought the way he did for the commoners made his sacrifice hit way harder than a normal death scene would

I honestly thought Julius had the fight won because his time magic is basically cheating but seeing him choose to save the kingdom over his own life was heartbreaking. He spent his whole life trying to fix the class system and died protecting everyone regardless of their status. Watching Yami arrive too late to help his mentor felt like such a blow.

I was yelling at the screen when Licht launched those swords at the whole city because Julius had no choice but to use all his time to save everyone

It is so sad that the man who wanted equality the most had to die, especially when Yami arrived a second too late to help him out.

Pierrot really went all out on the speed of the time magic and light magic battle

I still can't believe the Wizard King is actually gone, especially since he felt so invincible with that massive book of infinite pages. Seeing him think about Zara and a world without classes while he was dying really got to me, and now Yami is there to see the aftermath. The animation during the light and time clash was very impressive.

My heart actually hurts watching Julius give up everything just to save the kingdom and seeing that coverless grimoire disappear was too much to handle

How does a grimoire not even have a cover and still be that powerful because Julius was moving so fast Licht could barely keep up until he targeted the civilians

Licht really used Julius being a good person against him and that ending with Yami showing up right as he fell was just brutal

That final move Licht pulled with the light swords covering the entire sky was terrifying and it forced the Wizard King into the only position where he could actually lose

The flashback with Zara Ideale made the ending so much harder to watch, especially when Julius started talking about his dream for a world without merit based on rank.
