Amazing episode, the dark, "corrupted" elements from Langris's magic pulls the audience back into the main antagonist, the elves! Great for reminding us of the stakes and outside factors from the royal knights exam.

This episode features the intense battle between Langris and FInral! Watching Langris's fractured mental state made me feel surprisingly sympathetic towards him. His superiority complex contrasts in the worst way with Finral's own struggles. Although the unknown force which darkened his mind feels like it's tying back to a much bigger picture.

The backstory with lady Finesse had such amazing emotional weight. She definitely helped Finral with his early issues with self-love and respect within a toxic family. Noble families become worse every time we hear about them! Horrible to one another and those they see below them.

The animation when the Black Bulls jumped onto the battlefield was excellent, and seeing Magna look that angry was genuinely terrifying.

everyone on the black bulls rushing out and surrounding langris like that was actual chills and nobody messes with finral and gets away with it

luck saying he will kill langris regardless of the match rules is the most real thing ever and the bulls are a real family

Langris is clearly losing it, but the way Finral still tried to reach out with kindness even when he was losing chunks of his body was heartbreaking.

I felt actually sick watching Langris lose his mind like that and his magic looked so evil and twisted while he was trying to kill his own brother right in front of everyone

the ending literally had me screaming at my screen because it showed how much the black bulls actually love each other and seeing asta and luck and magna looking that serious was terrifying and it was way better than any fight in the tournament so far and i hope finral is okay after taking all that damage from his crazy brother

i was honestly stunned by that dark mana and langris looked like a straight up monster and i really think he is possessed by whatever those midnight sun guys are into

Watching Langris actually try to murder Finral was genuinely terrifying, but the animation during those spatial magic clashes was some of the best we have seen so far in this tournament arc.

Finral kept trying to save his brother even while getting blasted into pieces and that kind of heart is rare in this show so you really have to respect him for sticking to his values

Asta and the rest of the squad jumping in at the end was the highlight because they treat each other like real family and they were not going to let Finral die for nothing

Those parents are the worst for treating Finral like garbage just because his magic is for support and they ruined Langris too by making him think he is better than everyone else

You see the Black Bulls jump on that stage to save Finral and they look like they are about to actually fight Langris right there

I was honestly shouting at the screen when Langris tried to go for that final blow on Finral, especially after seeing how much trauma their parents put them through as kids. Seeing Asta and the guys jump in to save their brother made me realize how much I love the Black Bulls and their bond is easily the best part of this whole series.

That ominous mana coming off Langris was creepy and it makes you wonder if he is connected to the Midnight Sun because he was acting just like Vetto did during the temple fight
