Vetto looks a bit rough in some shots but his power is terrifying. He just brushed off Magna and Luck like they were nothing and it makes the situation feel truly desperate

It was huge to see Gauche actually care about his teammates, and his plan to use Charmy as a secret weapon worked better than expected for those two

Grey being a shy girl under all that transformation magic was a total shock. It makes her previous weirdness a lot more endearing and the way she hides her face is kind of adorable

Vetto just brushed off that huge fire and lightning combo like it was nothing and now things look really bad for the bulls

The animation was looking a bit rough in the beginning, but Asta refusing to quit made the struggle feel real

Asta literally biting Vetto because his arms are broken is the most wild thing this show has done yet

Asta refusing to quit even after his bones were crushed is insane. Watching him stay in the fight is infectious and it was cool to see Noelle rush in to back him up

I can not believe Grey is actually a shy girl after all that time spent looking like a giant scary dude

I really got a kick out of seeing Grey drop the transformation and show her real self, because her being a nervous wreck is hilarious. The whole sequence with Gauche tricking Charmy into thinking her meal was in danger just to win a fight was classic Black Clover humor. Even with some shaky animation here and there, the energy of the Vetto fight is incredible

Okay, but Vetto stopping a whole combo attack with just one hand? My jaw literally dropped, like how is he even real?! It's wild to think how much stronger the rest of the Midnight Sun must be if *that's* their standard.

The way Asta refuses to stay down even after getting his arms smashed is brutal. That guy has zero self preservation and it somehow works to keep the Bulls going

I was cheering when Noelle and Kahono showed up to help Asta. Seeing everyone work together against such a monster is the only way they win this

Watching Asta bite Vetto was absolutely feral behavior and it fits him so well. Him standing up with broken arms really showed how stubborn he is as a person

I found myself laughing so hard when Charmy went nuclear because of her food. It was the perfect break from the stress of that Vetto fight and her giant sheep looked great

The enemy Charmy fought was vegetarian too 💔💔 most of this episode was focused on the sub-plot with Charmy, Grey and Gauche though; like they're keeping the Asta vs Vetto battle for future episodes. The ending was pretty unexpected! His character and strength is terrifying,

Damnn, I never could have guessed Grey's personality was so bright, they always came off as scary and intimidating, kind of like Gordon. Watching their dynamic with Gauche was pretty fun to, like it added some lighthearted vibes to his serious personality.

I'm getting a bit of fatigue from how long they've been having this battle, It feels pretty dragged out at this point. Having the eye of the midnight sun infiltrate the underwater temple felt a little too sudden too. Looks like it'll drag out for a few more episodes after this

Watching Charmy go into a food rage and wreck those guys was the funniest thing ever and it was great seeing the Black Bulls all helped out

My heart dropped when Vetto broke Asta's arms but that bit where he literally used his teeth to attack was so metal, even if the animation felt a bit stiff in that scene

You really should not touch food belonging to Charmy because that giant sheep chef appearing and wrecking that guy was the funniest thing ever

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting in the thick of the Seabed Temple Arc, episode 45 escalates the confrontations that kicked off when the Black Bulls clashed with the Eye of the Midnight Sun in 'The Pointlessly Direct Fireball and the Wild Lightning.' This is the pressure-cooker phase — battles intensify and stakes compound before the next episode, 'Awakening,' pushes the team toward critical breakthroughs. At roughly the quarter mark of Black Clover's 170-episode run, this arc is foundational for establishing the squad's combat identity and setting the tone for increasingly dangerous threats ahead.
