Binetsu: Yakusoku no Toki
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Three years ago, a university guy named Tatsuya had his shot at confessing to a girl named Ayumi on a wooden bridge — and completely froze. Now he's got a girlfriend, a reputation for being smart and charming, and somehow still can't stop thinking about the one that got away. Things get complicated fast when he starts tutoring a young woman named Rion and finds himself tangled up with her mother too. Then Ayumi walks back into his life at a beauty contest, and whatever emotional lid he had on those old feelings pops right off. This 2000 OVA from G.P Entertainment leans into the messy, overlapping relationships angle more than most entries in the genre. The setup is genuinely character-driven — there's actual history between these people, actual regret, not just a string of convenient encounters. If you've watched something like Bible Black and appreciated when a hentai OVA bothers to give its protagonist an emotional backstory, this scratches a similar itch. Fans of Shusaku who liked the layered relationship drama will find familiar territory here. It's a single episode, so it doesn't overstay its welcome. The early 2000s animation holds up reasonably well for the era, and the pacing moves quickly without feeling rushed. If you want something with a little romantic melancholy underneath the explicit content, this one delivers that specific combination without trying too hard to impress you about it.
