So yes, the story is going somewhere right now. Everbody, except maybe one or two characters, are all planning and scheming at every turn, for better or for worse. But it's left vague as to whose side each one is on at the moment. This is what you'd expect from story from the very beginning when all these power plays have been heavily hinted on.
