Everything felt a bit slow at the start because they spend so much time in the club room and it took forever to get to the magic parts with the black brand ritual

That first successful spell felt heavy and it makes you realize they are way out of their league with that cursed text

The art style is definitely a product of its time, but I think the supernatural elements keep it more interesting than the average title in this genre.

Seeing the origin of the grimoire explains a lot about the mess in the main series and the way the girls treat it like a game is messed up

I forgot how creepy the atmosphere gets when they start reading those translation notes and the vibes shifted fast once I saw Rie pull out that dusty book from the shop

The stabbing scene was genuinely disturbing and it felt way too real compared to the goofy dialogue and the robotic way the characters responded to the violence

Watching them find that book and immediately decide to start a cult was a choice, but at least the animation for the magic scenes was decent enough.

My brain still hurts from the robotic voice acting but the story about the magic book actually had me interested for a minute

The contrast between the dark cult vibes and the absolutely terrible lip syncing makes this feel like a fever dream and I am just confused

I went into this for the plot but the actual plot about the translation of that dusty book caught me off guard and the whole thing feels way grittier than other stuff in this genre plus the dub is the funniest thing ever recorded and that old man voice coming out of a student had me rolling on the floor

That plot was total gibberish and I had no idea why anyone was doing anything and the voices made it impossible to take the satanic stuff seriously

The way their mouths do not move at all while they talk is so distracting and it feels like watching a ventriloquist act with demons

The dub for this is hilarious and the girl sounds like a fifty year old man reading a script and I could not stop laughing through that weird ritual scene

you get these short vignettes that feel like reading an old creepypasta and the part about god wanting to die was pretty morbid for a show like this

that random racist image in the middle of the episode caught me off guard and it felt so unnecessary because the rest of the occult stuff was already creepy enough

contrast in the shadows looks really cool, even if the characters do not move their mouths when they talk, which makes it feel very old school

english dub for this is absolutely hilarious because everyone sounds like a robot and it makes the serious satanic ritual scenes impossible to take seriously
