Bible Black Origins
Oshimeter
Synopsis
After their witchcraft club gets rejected by the student council, three high school girls keep practicing in secret. Then one of them finds a handwritten book at an antique shop — old, dusty, clearly not meant for casual reading — and once they translate it, things shift in a direction nobody planned for. This is the prequel to 'Bible Black,' set twelve years before the main story, following Hiroko Takashiro and her friends as they go from curious students messing with minor spells to something considerably darker after the forbidden tome enters the picture. A transfer student named Reika Kitami shows up and complicates everything further. The show genuinely leans into occult atmosphere — rituals, temptation, the slow creep of power corrupting a tight-knit group. It's only two episodes, so it moves fast, but it builds its dread well for what it is. If you've seen 'Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend' or 'La Blue Girl' and appreciate that older dark supernatural OVA energy, this sits comfortably in that same space. It's explicit, so know what you're getting into, but the actual story holds up — morally ambiguous characters, a genuinely unsettling tone, and enough lore to make you want to track down the main series afterward. Think of it less as a standalone and more as the origin chapter that recontextualizes everything that comes after.
