juromaru_250★★★★☆EP 1This show really takes the horror seriously and the mystery of the carbonized bodies makes the investigation feel like a proper detective thriller with a twisted supernatural edge
All over the city, couples are turning up dead, killed mid-act, the women untouched, the men burned to ash from the waist up except for one very specific part. It's a weird case, and that's exactly why the special investigative unit Tokken gets the call. Among their members is Kurumi Imari, a psychic investigator with a personal history that makes her uniquely suited for this kind of thing: dark magic, a traumatic past, and a connection to events most people would rather forget. This is the sequel OVA to the original Bible Black, picking up years after that story left off, and it leans hard into the horror and mystery angle rather than just being a straightforward continuation. The murders have a supernatural signature, witnesses keep reporting ghostly figures, and as Imari digs deeper, old wounds start to reopen. The tone is genuinely dark: more detective thriller with horror elements than you might expect going in. The animation holds up well and does a lot of work selling the unsettling atmosphere. If you've seen La Blue Girl or the original Bible Black and appreciated how those layered actual plot around the explicit content, this scratches a similar itch. It's a 6-episode OVA adapted from the visual novel, so the story stays focused and doesn't overstay its welcome. Go in having seen the first series; the callbacks hit harder when you know what Imari's been through.

juromaru_250★★★★☆EP 1This show really takes the horror seriously and the mystery of the carbonized bodies makes the investigation feel like a proper detective thriller with a twisted supernatural edge
tijo_283★★☆☆☆EP 1The way those male victims were burned to a crisp while the women stayed fine is creepy and it sets a much darker tone for this investigation into the cult
white_324★★★★☆EP 1I really liked the mention of the ceremony and the broken seal because it makes the supernatural elements feel much bigger than just a few isolated crimes in the city
darmani★★★☆☆EP 1Seeing the way the cult operates behind the scenes is creepy, and the specific way the victims were left makes me wonder what kind of ritual they are actually trying to pull off this time.
hoho_hurricane★★★★☆EP 1following up on the events of walpurgis night after all these years is a bold move but the way they introduced the tokken team works for this setting
vesper098★★★★☆EP 1I saw those carbonized bodies and it was so unsettling and the way they were found during the act made the occult atmosphere feel way more dangerous than the original series
dankan_dancer_475★★★☆☆EP 1Imari being part of Tokken now feels like a natural progression and her focus on the Spear of Longinus mystery brings back all that dark occult dread from before
baniacz★★☆☆☆EP 1the animation felt a bit stiff during the dialogue scenes and the pacing was way too slow for a first episode trying to set up a new murder mystery and it just didn't grab me like the old ones
lulu★★★★☆EP 1i was mostly just glad to see the dark atmosphere return because the original bible black had such a specific grim feeling and this feels like it belongs in that world
tatl_264★★★☆☆EP 1the way the metropolitan murders are framed is so dark and unsettling and the contrast between the intimate scenes and the sudden carbonization is actually pretty effective horror
tsundylan★★★★☆EP 1It was wild seeing the aftermath of those murders, because I didn't expect the occult stuff to get this graphic right away. I missed Imari a lot, and having her lead the investigation gives me hope that the story will actually connect back to the original Walpurgis Night lore instead of just being a random spinoff. The spear of longinus mystery has my attention.
kumaru_yukihara★★★★☆EP 1adding a detective team like tokken makes the whole thing feel more like a crime thriller than just a standard sequel and it keeps the pacing moving pretty fast
kygerten★★★★☆EP 1hearing them mention the spear of longinus brings back all that crazy occult stuff from the first show and i am here for the supernatural mystery vibes
james_345★★★★☆EP 1my head is spinning seeing imari back after so long and she looks exactly how i remembered her from the original series even if the art style changed a bit
ghosthardware★★★☆☆EP 1those carbonized bodies were absolutely disgusting and seeing the guys burned like that while the girls were fine is such a weird dark twist even for this franchise
pierce★★★☆☆EP 1Most of the new characters don't really stand out yet and it feels like they are just retreading the same dark magic tropes from the first one without adding much new stuff
fridulf★★★★☆EP 1It felt weird seeing Imari in a suit instead of a school uniform, but I think the detective angle works for a sequel and the whole mystery about the Spear of Longinus got me interested. The scene with the carbonized bodies was actually pretty disturbing for this kind of show, and I want to see how the cult fits into the old lore.
haschwalth_halo★★★★☆EP 1Those carbonized bodies were definitely gross but the pacing felt a bit slow compared to how the original series started
gilbert_bougainvillea★★★★☆EP 1The way they tied the murders back to the old magic was cool and I think the spear of longinus part means things are going to get even messier than before
katy_362★★★★☆EP 1Imari being a detective now is such a cool skip forward and seeing her deal with those burnt bodies was super creepy
