Episode Context

As the first of thirteen episodes covering the Golden Age Arc, this premiere is pure foundation, introducing Guts, establishing the medieval setting's brutal tone, and planting seeds for the complex character relationships and political machinations that define this arc. Nothing precedes it, but everything that follows builds on the atmosphere and character groundwork laid here. Expect the episodes ahead to escalate as key figures enter the picture and the scope of ambition driving this story becomes clear.
