Episode Context

Following the premiere's reintroduction of Guts as the lone, cursed wanderer in 'The Branded Swordsman,' episode two shifts focus by introducing a major faction and key recurring characters, Farnese, Serpico, and the Holy Iron Chain Knights, who will shape much of the season's conflict. This early encounter establishes the ideological battleground Guts must navigate alongside the supernatural horrors already pursuing him. It directly sets the stage for 'Night of Miracles,' where the consequences of this confrontation escalate significantly.
