Episode Context

This episode picks up directly after Xiao Yan's departure from the Jia Ma Empire, closing the door on the conflicts of the San Nian Zhi Yue special and opening the Black-Corner Region arc. As episode 1 of 52, it functions as the season's foundational reset, repositioning Xiao Yan as an outsider in hostile new terrain while keeping Canaan Academy, and Xun'er, as the distant but driving goal. Everything introduced here, the region's lawlessness, Black Mark City as a waypoint, and Xun'er's waiting presence, feeds directly into the larger arc of reunion and escalating confrontation ahead.
