Episode Context

Coming off the fallout of 'River of Mercy' where shifting alliances and betrayals cracked open deeper fractures within both clans, episode 21 zeroes in on the personal costs of those fractures, particularly through Kagero and Tenzen's escalating power dynamics. As episode 21 of 24, this is the series' penultimate act, tightening the emotional and psychological screws before the climactic confrontations ahead. It directly sets the stage for 'The Haunted,' transitioning from intimate vendettas toward the broader, decisive clashes that will define the series' endgame.
