Episode Context

Coming off the brutal confrontations of Episode 15, this mid-late season entry functions as a deliberate narrative exhale, using flashback to recontextualize the central tragedy before the final act escalation. It bridges the visceral present-day conflict with the origins of Gennosuke and Oboro's doomed bond, enriching every death that came before it. Episode 17, 'Wandering Hearts,' will channel this emotional groundwork into the present, where past promises collide with current bloodshed as the series drives toward its conclusion.
