Bao Ke Meng Donghua Tujian: Yun Xiu Xun Zong
Oshimeter
Synopsis
A determined Magikarp spends an entire day leaping at a stepped rice paddy, failing again and again. That's the first episode of this 10-episode ONA, and it tells you everything about the vibe. Bao Ke Meng Donghua Tujian: Yun Xiu Xun Zong is a Pokémon short series with no trainer hero and no villain, just small wildlife stories set in a quiet, Chinese ink-wash wilderness. Episode 2 trades the paddy for a berry race between a speedy Scorbunny and a slow but stubborn Chewtle. Each short watches Pokémon be Pokémon: they search for food, test their limits, and bump into each other. The brushstroke look and Mandarin-based vocalizations make it feel distinct from the main anime. If you liked Pokemon Concierge for its calm pace, or POKÉTOON for its playful short-form experiments, this sits in that same cozy corner. It also shares Pokemon: Paldean Winds' interest in quiet character moments, though here the characters are critters. It's gentle, lightly funny, and easy to watch in small doses. Not a battle show, not a lore dump. Just a Magikarp refusing to give up on a rice paddy.
