Bakusou Kyoudai Let's & Go Episode 15: Confronting the Gang! Protect Grandpa!

The episode opens with the sting of Retsu and Go's past defeat, setting a grim stage for Dr. Ogami's stark declaration: winning is all. He boasts about his Proto Saber JB, a machine built for absolute speed, dismissive of any other ideal. Dr. Tsuchiya confronts his former colleague, arguing that machines should nurture children's dreams. Ogami simply laughs, certain that Tsuchiya has already lost the battle for racing's future.

Driving home under a starry sky, Tsuchiya sees the frustration on the boys' faces. He reveals a shared history with Ogami, stretching back a decade. A flashback shows a younger Tsuchiya trying to temper Ogami's destructive tests on Mini 4WD prototypes, machines too dangerous for children. Ogami, unwilling to compromise, departs to pursue his own relentless path. Back in the present, Tsuchiya reassures Go and Retsu that their machines have a spirit that grows alongside them, calming their doubts.

As they near home, Retsu stops, his resolve hardening. He convinces Go they must return to the lab, no longer doubting Tsuchiya's ideals. Back at the institute, the unlocked door and ominous silence signal something is amiss. Inside Tsuchiya's office, the boys discover a framed photo. It shows a young Tsuchiya, standing proudly beside a fighter jet in a pilot's suit. This reveals their mentor's past as a real-life pilot.

The sudden crack of machine-gun fire shatters the quiet, sending Retsu and Go ducking for cover. Two thugs, all purple suits and sunglasses, threaten Dr. Tsuchiya, demanding a prototype machine. Tsuchiya stands firm, refusing to surrender what he calls a sacred legacy. He eventually feigns cooperation, leading them through a hidden passage. The boys follow, stealthily, as Tsuchiya tries, in vain, to dissuade the thugs from Ogami's destructive path.

They enter a vast hangar, filled with vintage aircraft and dozens of prototype Mini 4WD machines behind a secure display. The thugs mock Tsuchiya, demanding he identify Ogami's desired 'legend'. Tsuchiya remains silent, refusing to cooperate. Growing impatient, the lead gunman begins testing the prototypes, shooting any that fail to meet his demands. Retsu and Go watch in anguish as cherished creations are blasted into plastic shards. Tsuchiya's face shows deep pain as his life's work is systematically destroyed.

In a desperate move, Dr. Tsuchiya strikes a thug and manually activates a specific machine: the Super Avante. The sleek, white-and-blue car roars to life, launching onto the track with incredible speed. Tsuchiya yells for Retsu and Go to run as the thugs open fire, pursuing the escaping Mini 4WD. The Super Avante bursts out of the hangar into the night, chased by the thugs in their red convertible. Tsuchiya, Retsu, and Go pile into the yellow van, joining the high-speed pursuit. Tsuchiya explains that the Super Avante is the ancestor of all Saber machines, its secrets sought by Ogami to create destructive 'Battle Racing' machines.

The chase escalates, with thugs firing machine guns at Tsuchiya's van, peppering it with bullet holes. Retsu and Go huddle on the floor as Tsuchiya deftly maneuvers through bullet fire. They enter a narrow construction zone, adding new perils to the high-speed pursuit. The thugs attempt to ram the van, but Tsuchiya swerves, sending their car crashing into a crane truck. The impact launches the Super Avante high into the air, soaring over a gap in the unfinished highway.

Fearing the loss of the Super Avante, Retsu and Go release their own Sonic and Magnum to catch it. The three machines race across the unfinished highway, the boys shouting encouragement as they run alongside. The Super Avante proves to be a handful, exhibiting wild, unpredictable behavior. Sonic and Magnum work to corner it, but the prototype performs a spectacular jump against the full moon. The boys are stunned to see it execute the same 'Tornado' maneuver they pioneered.

The Super Avante eventually crashes into a concrete pillar, shattering into pieces. Retsu and Go reach the wreckage, looking down with a mixture of sadness and understanding. They realize the machine pushed itself to its absolute limit, staying true to its racing spirit. Tsuchiya arrives, picking up the broken chassis, but the boys reassure him. They finally grasp what it means for a machine to have a soul. As dawn breaks, they stand with Tsuchiya, committing to protect his ideals and become honest racers. Tsuchiya smiles, proud of his pupils' growth, as the credits roll over the peaceful sunrise.
