Episode Context

Coming directly off Baki's brutal clash with Kaoru Hanayama in Episode 7, "Demon" pulls back from the tournament floor to excavate the family history fueling Baki's obsession with strength. Yujiro's formal introduction here is a pivotal anchor point for the entire series, understanding who he is makes every prior and future episode hit differently. This episode plants seeds for the larger confrontation between father and son that the season is building toward.
