Episode Context

This episode opens the Maximum Tournament Saga, a direct shift from the more personal, developmental focus of the first season into a structured, world-stage competition. Where Baki's earlier journey centered on individual growth and survival, this arc funnels that momentum into a formal tournament framework orchestrated by Tokugawa. 'Start' establishes the players, the stakes, and the setting that will drive all 24 episodes forward.
