Tbh, I love mecha anime like Gundam, Zoids, and MKR, to name a few, but I must say, I didn't expect this one. The MC's introduction is pretty hilarious—who knew that's what the title was all about? Haha. I also don't understand the costume logic—a mix of ancient Chinese, Western, and modern clothing—but I guess it works. The animation for the Briheight battles looks pretty slick too! Overall, it's chaotic, weird, and honestly pretty fun.
As an avid mecha-series lover, I can see that Back Arrow offers a fresh air into mostly rigid sci-fi scene. So far, visual and OST is high-quality, unique plot hook and comedy doesn't feel forced. While there's rather massive jargons introduced for a first episode, the presentation is solid and presumably will be explained on the future episodes. 8/10.
I just watched the pilot episode, and it really grabbed my attention! The introduction of the mechas right off the bat set the tone perfectly, and I loved how they jumped into the combat action immediately. The animation is vibrant and visually stunning, which just adds to the excitement. I’d give it an 8/10 for a solid introduction. Plus, seeing Aniplex associated with it raised my expectations, and it definitely didn’t disappoint!
