EPISODE REVIEWS

What a great start!! I had stopped watching it after the first episode a while back, and I'm so glad I decided to start it again. By the way, I love this kind of animation—it keeps me glued to the TV.

B: The Beginning starts strong with a mix of mystery, action, and supernatural thrills. 🔍⚔️ A skilled investigator is pulled into strange events, setting up an intriguing world full of secrets, suspense, and exciting twists to come

Episode Context

Production I.G throws you straight into a rain-soaked, noir-drenched world and expects you to keep up. This premiere drops you into the city of Cremona, where a string of brutal killings has everyone on edge and a vigilante known as 'Killer B' dominates the headlines. The tone is dark, kinetic, and layered, splitting its focus between the return of eccentric detective Keith Flick to active duty at the Royal Investigation Service and the mysterious young Koku, whose connection to the chaos remains deliberately unclear. The pacing is aggressive, juggling action set pieces with cryptic world-building that rewards attention. Expect a show that trusts its audience to piece things together rather than spelling everything out. If you like your mysteries served cold with a supernatural edge, this opener makes its case fast.
