Days earlier, Levi Ackerman waits with Eren in a dim basement, tea in hand, complaining about Erwin Smith's tardiness. The atmosphere is thick with unspoken dread for the coming mission. Erwin finally arrives, accompanied by Armin, Mikasa, and Jean, surprising Eren. The commander quickly announces they have identified a suspect for the Female Titan, their faces hardening as the gravity of the mission sets in.

Erwin outlines the plan to lure their target in Stohess, revealing Armin was the one to uncover the identity. He names Annie Leonhart, a member of the Military Police and a 104th Training Corps graduate. Eren visibly struggles with this revelation. Back in the tunnel, other Survey Corps soldiers confirm the failed trap. They stress the need for Eren to transform. He bites his hand with absolute certainty, and a massive bolt of lightning shatters the rubble. The Attack Titan emerges, roaring, its muscular form towering over Stohess.
