Episode Context

As the Season 3 premiere, 'Smoke Signal' pivots directly from Season 2's Titan revelations into a human-versus-human conflict, establishing the political conspiracy arc that will dominate the first half of this season. It lays essential groundwork, introducing new antagonists within the walls and repositioning the Scout Regiment as targets of their own government. Everything here is foundation: the alliances, suspicions, and power dynamics set up in this episode will escalate rapidly across the next several installments.
