Attack on Titan: Lost Girls

This episode is like partially canon to the main plot of Attack on Titan. It explores Mikasa's mind and alternate reality with the relationships that were and are close to her. This girl just never catches a break and sad but so in line with the themes of Attack on Titan.

Annie is so badass in this episode, her combat and deadpan stare makes her so cool when fighting enemies. The episode and especially at the end grabs the viewers attention and provides context of Annie's resolve in the series.

If you want to have more Attack on Titan content, this mini series hits the spot. It provides more background on Annie's POV during season 1. You can tell Annie's internal struggle between her mission and morals, which gives more dimension in her character.

This episode tends to take us to an alternate reality, like dissecting Mikasa's psychology, which is filled with trauma from loss. Besides, no matter what the universe is filled with, Mikasa's fate is definitely a very difficult one.

The fight scene where Annie uses her ODM Gear is really cool and brutal. But the most impressive thing is the unpredictable plot twist in the investigation.

It turns out Annie Leonhart is indeed that cold, but on the other hand, her soul is very fragile. Plus, in this episode, the vibe of military corruption is also really felt, making you curious about the mystery behind that huge wall

The plot of the finale shifts entirely to Mikasa Ackerman, exploring a hypnotic, surreal alternate universe created by her psyche to cope with the trauma of losing Eren during the battle of Trost. Character designs strip away the military gear, dressing a younger Mikasa and Eren in soft, idyllic rural clothing that highlights the childhood innocence they were robbed of in reality. The visuals use a bright, watercolor-like filter with oversaturated greens and soft sunbeams, making the environment feel fragile and dream-like.

Visuals are incredibly dynamic during the action sequences, using Wit Studio’s trademark sweeping camera pans as Annie uses her Omni-Directional Mobility (ODM) gear through narrow, crowded alleyways. The soundtrack stands out by using melancholic strings and muted industrial beats to amplify Annie's internal monologue about the pointlessness of the world.

The plot acts as a brilliant, gritty detective noir story set the day before the 57th Exterior Scouting Mission. It follows Annie Leonhart as she takes on a missing person's case in the corrupt Stohess District to distract herself from her impending, terrifying mission to capture Eren. Character designs focus heavily on Annie’s civilian appearance; her signature oversized hoodie and slumped, exhausted posture emphasize her profound burnout and emotional detachment. The visuals swap the series' usual bright battlefield lighting for a dark, rain-slicked, and claustrophobic urban palette, perfectly capturing the underbelly of Wall Sina.

This episode was a complete shift from the previous ones, but the story was great, grim as we could expect from AoT but very engaging.

I liked this episode, much faster paced and had more action as well as some twists and turns in her investigation, keeping it engaging.

The episode develops slowly but is all about the investigation to keep it interesting on what will happen, but it gets more intense at the end.

This episode has nothing to be with the two firsts ones of this OVA´s, but the story connects with some seasons of the main anime, it was great.

This episode was intense, the way Annie resolved the case was satisfying, the visual changed from the last one, there is more lore. I really love AOT.

Even though is an OVA it catched my attention, I wanna know what´s next and that is quite rare, the animation and sound work perfectly!
