Synopsis
Long before the world would know him as humanity's strongest soldier, Levi was a thug scraping by in the Underground, a sunless slum beneath the capital where people are basically forgotten. This 2-episode OVA follows him, along with his two closest companions, Isabel Magnolia and Farlan Church, as they run small-time criminal jobs just to eat. Their lives take a sharp turn when a political figure named Nicholas Lobov offers them a deal: citizenship aboveground in exchange for assassinating Erwin Smith, a rising leader in the Survey Corps. Simple enough, right? Except nothing in the Attack on Titan universe is ever simple, and the mission pulls Levi into a world of Titans, military politics, and choices that reshape who he becomes. Wit Studio brought their A-game here: the 3D maneuver gear sequences are some of the best in the whole franchise, and the animation quality holds up against the main series easily. What makes this worth your time isn't just the action though. It's watching Levi go from someone fighting for survival to someone fighting for something bigger, and understanding why he carries the weight he does in the main story. If you're into morally grey setups like Black Lagoon or the societal tension of Psycho-Pass, this hits a similar nerve. Fans of Tokyo Ghoul's exploration of characters trapped by circumstance will find familiar ground too. Two episodes, tight pacing, and genuine emotional stakes, it earns that title.

This was mind bending episode, which makes our Levi, the Ruthless Captain Levi, Ending of this episode was heart breaking, but I guess that was necessary to make Levi the most powerful scout ever.
These episodes made me love Levi even more. Poor guy deserves happiness
Really enjoyed getting some of Levi's backstory. I loved Furlan and Isabel too so everything that happened was super sad. Crazy seeing how Levi and Erwin's relationship started and how it was at the end. They truly grew to love and respect each other and Levi letting him die was his true kindness, instead of the hatred he had when he tried to kill him in these OVAs.

This episode gives a idea the ground city built under wall Sina, Features the back story and the origin of Captain Levi. Ending of this episode was a pure mystery with a little twist and turns, which eventually ends up in clash between Commander Erwin and Captain Levi.
The voice actor of Levi in this episode is phenomenal! The episode is gory hence the story of why did Levi decided to continue following Erwin as a Survey Corps member.
This is an underrated OVA episode based on the spin-off manga. The episode tells the top-tier backstory of Levi from the Underground capital and his first encounter with another pivotal character, Erwin, as well as the events of the 23rd expedition beyond the walls.
