This episode was dark. The pacing was rather slow and tense, with the spotlight focusing to Reiner.

This episode i feels like the cinematic, sun-drenched graphics of Reiner’s flashbacks are heartbreaking. The peak moment is seeing Reiner’s failed suicide attempt. I feel a strange surge of sympathy for the "Armoured Titan".

Reiner's present situation of brokenness can be explained by looking at his past. From the beginning, his story seems tragic. I felt sorry for Reiner because of this.

This episode really made me feel bad for Reiner. He was just a kid wanting his dad to notice him, and they basically brainwashed him. The flashback with Marcel was rough. That ending when Eren shows up was absolutely crazy. The animation looks good too. Solid episode overall.

This felt very emotional. Seeing how the past through a different perspective changed how desperate they are during the initial breach. The animation made me feel the emotional weight of their failures. This episode left me deeply conflicted on both sides.

Everytime in this anime, Because of that stella voice acting, all the characters feel really alive. I really am impressed and left to wonder how this kind of a story was made. So beautifully well made.

A very brutal episode, full of sorrow. It's dark, and cruel in ways I never thought possible.
Though if you let it cook, you'll see that its that way for a reason.
The animation is top notch, it brings the chaotic feel into another level. A very interesting episode

Slow-burning intensity with sharp emotional beats. Conversations feel like loaded weapons. The atmosphere? Thick enough to slice with a Titan’s nail.

Reiner’s backstory is tough to watch. Seeing the pressure he faced as a child explains a lot about his guilt and mental struggles.

Im not used to watching dialogue episode but this is an exemption. It is more on flashbacks and gives more information about the titans and characters. Tension build up and a slow pace in the end part.

We get to see important flashbacks for important events from the previous season! We finally had a POV on what really happened on Annie's side too! I got chills om the part when we see Annie's squad again!

EPISODE CONTEXT

Following episode two's establishment of Marley's military apparatus and introduction of the Warrior candidates, episode three pivots inward to deliver critical backstory for Reiner Braun, grounding the season's new Marleyan perspective in deeply personal stakes. This character study is essential connective tissue between the world-building of the early Final Season episodes and the explosive narrative turns ahead. The emotional foundation laid here pays dividends across the remaining thirteen episodes, making it one of the most quietly important installments of the season.
