Episode Context

Arriving at episode 21 of 50, 'Dragon Lake' follows 'Eternal Boy,' which explored the unsettling pursuit of immortality, and continues the series' pattern of pairing Astro Boy with morally complex, theme-driven scenarios. This episode pivots from questions of human fragility to questions of environmental harm, broadening the show's ethical scope mid-season. It feeds directly into 'Goodbye Princess,' which carries forward the tension between personal conviction and larger responsibility.
