After 2 episodes of build-up, episode 3, this episode exceeds expectations by showing us a side of Malida Angel that we didn’t expect to see so early into the series. Malida, who is usually mocked for being the “talentless girl," finally takes the center stage. She makes us, the audience, feel her struggle, which makes her final breakthrough give a profound sense of catharsis.
But the real showstopper for the episode is her instructor, Kufa Vampir. When Malida and Elise are ambushed by the lycanthropes outside in preparation for the upcoming school festival. Kufa drops his calm and polite persona to protect his student, revealing his true nature, which he keeps hidden from the guild, of a vampire—the highest-ranking class of lycanthrope.
This episode is a masterclass of dark fantasy action. The animation steps up immensely during the combat scenes, making Kufa’s "Limit Break" feel monumental. The visuals and theatrical soundtrack give a sense of pure hype that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats. Compared to previous episodes, episode 3 has rapid progression that perfectly anchors the chaos to one core emotional anchor: The absolute trust between a rogue assassin and his determined pupil Malida proves that pride is not just inherited but earned on the battlefield.
