📖 SYNOPSIS
"Aoi Hitomi no Onnanoko no Ohanashi" unfolds in a mountainous village in Kōchi Prefecture during World War II, where villagers harbor resentment towards Americans and British due to war-related casualties. Eiko, an elementary schoolgirl with blue eyes inherited from her American father, arrives from Yokohama and becomes the target of relentless bullying from her classmates. The teachers, with the exception of Eiko's homeroom teacher Akiko, share the children's negative perception.
However, a boy named Kenta shows curiosity towards Eiko, offering a glimmer of hope amidst the hostility. The villagers' lives are further impacted when a wounded father returns from the battlefield, and news of additional casualties arrives, intensifying the emotional weight of the war and the prejudice within the community. The story explores themes of prejudice, cultural conflict, and the impact of war on a small community.
