📖 SYNOPSIS
"Saigo no Kuushuu: Kumagaya" follows seven-year-old Sachiko, who, having lost her family in the firebombing of Tokyo, travels by train to her uncle's family in Kumagaya, Saitama Prefecture. The journey itself is perilous, as the train is targeted by a plane. Upon arrival, Sachiko is warmly welcomed by her uncle and his family. She spends her days exploring the natural beauty of Kumagaya with her cousins, finding a sense of belonging and joy.
However, this period of peace is tragically short-lived. The film's final act depicts the devastating final air raid of the war. The city is thrown into fear and chaos, and Sachiko is separated from her family amidst the destruction, leading to devastating consequences. The anime explores themes of loss, resilience, and the impact of war on innocent lives.
