Aoharu x Machinegun

Synopsis
Hotaru Tachibana has a strong sense of justice and just cannot help confronting those who choose to perform malicious acts. Furthermore, Hotaru is actually a girl who likes to disguise herself as a boy. After hearing rumors that her best friend was tricked by the popular host of a local club, Hotaru seeks to punish the evildoer. Upon arriving at the club, however, she is challenged to a so-called "survival game" by the host Masamune Matsuoka, where the first person hit by the bullet of a toy gun will lose. After a destructive fight which results in Hotaru's loss, Masamune forces the young "boy" to join his survival game team named Toy Gun Gun, in order to repay the cost of the damages that "he" has caused inside the club. Although she is initially unhappy with this turn of events, Hotaru quickly begins to enjoy what survival games have to offer and is determined to pay off her debt, much to the dismay of Tooru Yukimura, the other member of Toy Gun Gun. As time goes on, Hotaru begins to develop a close friendship with the rest of the team and hopes to take part in realizing their dream of winning the Top Combat Game (TCG), a tournament to decide the best survival game team in Japan. Although Hotaru tries her best, there are just two little problems: she is absolutely terrible at the game, and Toy Gun Gun doesn't allow female members on their team!

There were very few interesting survival tactics that I would have loved to see more, but I do enjoy an episode dedicate to being introspective. I was not expecting the crux of Matsuoka's issue. Thus, when confronted it and healed through Tachibana's ego, I felt it. The VA, music, and visuals did well to make the emotion felt through the screen. Brilliant finale for a 1-cour anime and adapted well from the manga.
I absolutely love everything about this episode. I love how useful Midori is as a rival while this being a high-key sadist. I also love the novelty the author choose to acknowledge the wrong actions Toy GunGun has made despite the situation is more complex than that. It's not often that 1-cour anime has a layered conflict so it was a delightful twist because it's not easy to point flaws at the main cast that we are supposed to root for.
The most peak Yukimura I've ever seen in this series. Not to mention it has one of my most favorite dialogues of all time. Good intention doesn't excuse bad actions, which was why Yukimura's scolding is so satisfying to hear.
Absolutely brutal in the entire episode. Midori is making an active effort into being hated. He perfected his evil act and dialogue to a T, I'm honestly impressed. The climatic showdown was also hype though a bit short for my prefrence. Otherwise, I'd say it's the best episode.
A Kanae-Hotaru centric episode! After an intense episode, having a downtown and contemplating how to move forward with Hotaru's best friend is the right way to go. It goes to show how deep Kanae's understanding of her despite their stark differences.
White Star is just as unhinged as ToyGunGun despite the sinister undertone of their leader. The classic matchup between members as they try to either outdo or out-skill the other truly bring a fun tension to the story. We learn more about the different tactics of survival game and the different play style paired by different guns.
The satisfaction of finally having the emotional whiplash when Yuki and Matsuoka is confronted by Midori was as tense as I hoped it would be. Their personal drama is dragging the team down and they don't even know it, which makes me wish for the best of them and looking forward to how they'll developed.
Another good anime show finished! I can't say I'll miss it too much, but it definitely had some fun moments. I really grew to like the characters and the opening song, and they were so good at making certain scenes feel super intense!
I love Tachibana character because she acts like a total psycho sometimes. That being said, they really need to wrap up the misunderstanding about her being a girl. At this point, that plot point is getting kind of boring
Fujimon is perfect and adorable and I like him more with every episode. His voice actor is incredible! It’s also hilarious how this anime acts like a romance game for girls, even with the whole misunderstanding about Tachibana's gender.
There have been a lot of cool characters this season, but Kanae was definitely the star of this episode. She is just so incredibly sweet and would make the perfect wife. I especially love how her personality can instantly switch from super outgoing to totally serious.
This episode was absolutely wild! Midori is officially the worst character ever. He takes being a jerk to a whole new level. I am literally begging for someone to defeat him and put him in his place
This show gets better with every single episode. I love seeing Hotaru’s insane speed and athletic ability. Honestly, this anime is so underrated. It deserves way more attention for how good it is.
Midori is a really interesting character and his team cracks me up. Fujimon is getting cuter every week, and I want to see more of Ichi. It’s so funny how they wear all-white instead of camo like the other teams. They act like they're just too good to care.
This show makes me want to try paintball so bad! It feels like the story is really starting to build up now. I absolutely love the direction the show is going in.
It feels like this series is putting friendships and character development first rather than just focusing on the survival matches. I’m not complaining though. The characters are great, and the show is still super enjoyable!
I know it's still way too early for this to happen, but I honestly can't wait to see how they react when she finally tells them that she's a girl, haha.
