the art style really makes the reveal scene work because you can see the exact moment ookoshi realizes what is going on with takita chest

that sibling practice story is so weird because the brother is genuinely trying to get ready for a meetup and ami is just playing along with her challenge

you can tell takita was terrified of anyone finding out her secret and seeing her offer up that irresistible incentive to ookoshi was such a intense turning point

i thought the look on takita face when ookoshi saw through the padding was so panicked and raw and it totally changed the mood

the way ami brother just casually asked her to practice for his online date was the most uncomfortable thing ever and i cannot believe she actually agreed to a challenge

Bonding over such specific and relatable things like gaming and crappy alligator films made this start feel much better than most of the seasonal romance shows

Yuu showing up at the end raises some worries about a love triangle but the core dynamic between Maki and Umi is so wholesome that it might be okay

The animation is solid and the voice acting really sells that comfortable feeling they have when they are just being nerds together in private away from their classmates

That moment where the main character admits he likes being alone without acting like a total loser was great to see when a girl finally talks to him

I went in expecting another generic rom-com but the vibes here are so different and cozy. Watching them just pig out on pizza and laugh at those terrible monster movies together felt so genuine. It reminds me of hanging out with friends on a Friday night and it made the whole secret relationship thing feel a lot more personal and real for me.

The relationship between Umi and Maki moves fast, but their shared love for bad B-movies and gaming makes their connection feel grounded and sweet for a first episode.

I think Umi being so lively makes her fun to watch because she just wants to chill and watch alligator movies instead of doing the typical popular girl routine

I found it cool how Maki was so blunt in his class introduction because most anime leads try too hard to be invisible and him just owning his lonely hobbies was refreshing
nianzol_nihility's avatar
nianzol_nihility
Having an introverted lead who still has plenty of integrity makes the whole dynamic with Umi actually believable since he is not some weird self insert character

The part where they were just hanging out and eating pizza while watching a terrible shark movie felt way more natural than the usual forced romance stuff you see in these shows

Takita being so desperate to hide her chest secret was kind of cute, even if the deal she made with Ookoshi was crazy

Ami deserved way better than being used as a training dummy for her brother's awkward date plans and the whole challenge setup just felt gross

I was surprised by how sweet Takita acted after the secret came out and seeing her blush while she made that offer to Ookoshi was the best thing about it

Practicing with your sister for a random internet date is such a weird choice and that challenge she set for him felt like too much work

Takita looked so scared when Ookoshi saw the padding and the way she offered herself up right then was wild
