Mathew is my favourite character, from his quiet gentleness to his socially inept self. Even when Marilla is being harsh, he always has a way of mending the anger. Also, he is so sweet to Anne! She is his princess!

The episode's mood was light-hearted and emotional. Matthew stepped up in this episode as the best model father-figure. There was something somber about the tone of the ep but overall, it was quite relaxing and satisfying. The pacing was slow burned, but the plot was visually moving.
