Ane☆Haramix
Oshimeter
Synopsis
A death god showing up in your bedroom to inform you that you're dead is, apparently, just something that can happen. That's already a weird Tuesday, but Ane☆Haramix takes it somewhere even stranger. Takami Akitoshi has been living alone with his older sister Hitomi since their parents died, quietly carrying feelings for her he's never acted on. Then Mina — a death god who looks nothing like you'd expect one to — appears out of nowhere to collect his soul. His time is up, apparently. Hitomi refuses to accept that, and pleads with Mina to let him live. Mina, oddly moved by this, offers a deal: father a child within a week, and get ten more years. The supernatural premise is genuinely what sets this apart from most entries in the genre. It gives the whole thing a structure and a reason to exist beyond the obvious, which is more than you can say for a lot of comparable OVAs. If you've watched something like Kanojo x Kanojo x Kanojo or Imouto Paradise and wanted a bit more plot scaffolding holding things together, this scratches that itch. The mid-2000s art style is very much of its era, so go in knowing what you're getting. Four episodes, adapted from a visual novel, produced by Anime Antenna Iinkai. It's a short watch, and the premise does most of the heavy lifting in making it memorable.
